The Reverend Paul Christopher Granillo is the Founding Pastor of The Holy Name of Jesus Parish. Fr. Paul is a third generation native of the City of Redlands. His father Richard Granillo was a banker in the City of Redlands until his retirement and his mother Connie is still the parish secretary at St. Joseph the Worker Parish in Loma Linda.

Born February 3rd, 1968 in Redlands Community Hospital, Fr. Paul attended McKinley Elementary, Cope Jr. High School and Redlands High School. Fr. Paul graduated from Redlands High in 1986 and was class speaker at graduation. He graduated in 1991 from California State University San Bernardino after having been actively involved in the Delta Sigma Phi Fraternity, New Student Orientation and University Ambassadors Society. He then entered Serra House of Formation in 1992 and attended the University of California at Riverside. He completed his theology studies at St. John’s Seminary in Camarillo California receiving a Master of Divinity degree in 1997.

Ordained to the Priesthood May 23rd, 1997 by the Most Reverend Bishop Gerald R. Barnes at Holy Family Church in Hesperia, Fr. Paul’s first assignment was as Parochial Vicar at St. Louis Church in Cathedral City. In 1998 Fr. Paul was assigned to St. Catherine of Alexandria Parish in Riverside as Parochial Vicar and also Bishop’s Liturgy Coordinator. In 1999, Fr. Paul was appointed Associate Vocations Director as well as Bishop’s Liturgy Coordinator. In the year 2000, Fr. Paul was appointed Priest Secretary to Bishop Barnes.

Father Paul also served at various times as a Priest Minister at St. Patrick’s Parish in Moreno Valley, Our Lady of Fatima and Christ the King Parishes in San Bernardino.

In 2003 Fr. Paul received a Licenciate in Canon Law degree from the Catholic University of America in Washington D.C.

From October of 2004 to July of 2006 Father Paul served as Administrator of Holy Rosary Cathedral in San Bernardino and continued as Secretary to Bishop Barnes.

Since 2002 Fr. Paul has also served as Director of Communications for the Diocese of San Bernardino.

Father Paul also serves as a member of the Diocesan Curia, Presbyteral Council and the College of Consultors.
